Steps to install Charge Anywhere2 CubeCart Extension

Installing the Charge Anywhere2 CubeCart extension is an easy and straightforward process that can be completed in just a few steps. In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide to help you install the Charge Anywhere2 CubeCart extension on your CubeCart store.

Step 1: Download the Charge Anywhere2

CubeCart Extension The first step is to download the Charge Anywhere2 CubeCart extension from the Charge Anywhere2 website. You will receive a zip file containing the extension.

Step 2: Extract the Zip

File Once you have downloaded the extension, extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on your computer. You can also refer, refer to this FTP connection guide for a step by step instructions on making a connection to your server, using FTP.

Step 3: Upload the Extension to your CubeCart Store

Using an FTP client, upload the extracted extension folder to the directory “/modules/plugins/”. If you are unsure how to do this, contact your hosting provider for assistance.

Step 4: Log in to your CubeCart admin panel

Once the extension has been uploaded to your CubeCart store, log in to your CubeCart admin panel. Click on the “Extensions” menu, and then click on “Manage Extensions.”

From the Manage Extensions page, click Upload Extension. Locate the Charge Anywhere2 extension file that is uploaded to your store, then click Upload.
Once the extension has been uploaded, click Install to install the extension on your CubeCart store.

Step 5: Configure the Extension

After installing the Charge Anywhere2 CubeCart extension, configure it to work with your payment gateway account. To do this, click Settings next to the Charge Anywhere2 extension on the Manage Extensions page.

Enter your Charge Anywhere2 account details, including your Merchant ID, Terminal ID, and Secret. You can also configure other settings such as API mode and Transaction mode.

Charge Anywhere2 Payment Gateway Form Attributes

The table below describes the attributes for configuring the Charge Anywhere2 Payment Module. It includes the options to enable/disable the payment module, priority during checkout, description displayed to the user, Merchant ID, Terminal ID, Secret for authentication, API Mode selection, Transaction Mode, email notifications for customers and merchants, logging of requests and responses, and acceptance of credit and ACH payments as payment methods.

StatusEnable or disable the Charge Anywhere2 Payment Module. If you want to use Charge Anywhere2 Payment Gateway, enable this option.
PriorityControls the priority during checkout. Customize as per your requirement.
DescriptionControls the description that the user sees during checkout. Add a brief description about the payment method.
Merchant IDEnter the Merchant ID provided by Charge Anywhere2. Unique identification number provided by Charge Anywhere2.
Terminal IDEnter the Terminal ID provided by Charge Anywhere2. Unique identification number provided by Charge Anywhere2.
SecretEnter the Secret used to Authenticate the request with Charge Anywhere2. The secret key is used for secure communication.
API ModeSelect the API Mode – Sandbox/Developer API Mode or Live/Production API Mode. Choose Sandbox Mode to test the payment gateway.
Transaction ModeSelect the Transaction Mode – Authorize and Capture. Set to Authorize if unsure.
Email To CustomerEnable or disable sending a default email to the customer from Charge Anywhere2.
Email To MerchantEnable or disable sending a default email to the merchant from Charge Anywhere2.
Enable Log request and responseSelect the API Mode – Sandbox/Developer API Mode or Live/Production API Mode. Choose Sandbox Mode to test the payment gateway.
Accept CreditEnable or disable accepting credit cards as a payment method.
Accept ACHEnable or disable accepting ACH payments as a payment method.

If credit card payments are enabled you will see the following options:

Add Convenience FeeThis attribute allows you to enable or disable adding a convenience fee to the payment amount.
Convenience Fee LabelThis attribute allows you to set the label for the convenience fee.
Convenience Fee Amount ($)This attribute allows you to set the convenience fee amount for a specific transaction.
Refund Convenience Fee on a ReturnThis attribute allows you to enable or disable refunding the convenience fee in case of a return.

If ACH payments are enabled you will see the following options:

Add Convenience FeeThis attribute allows you to add a convenience fee for ACH payments.
Convenience Fee LabelThis attribute requires you to enter the label for the Convenience Fee.
Convenience Fee Amount ($)This attribute requires you to enter the fixed amount of the Convenience Fee for ACH payments.
Refund Convenience Fee on a ReturnThis attribute allows you to enable or disable refunding the Convenience Fee when a return is made.

Step 6: Test the payment gateway

Once you have configured the extension, it is important to test it to ensure that it is working properly. To do this, create a test transaction and make sure that the payment is processed successfully.

Capture or Refund

To capture (force) or refund payment in CubeCart, start by accessing the Main Menu, then go to Customers, and choose the specific order you wish to process. Within the order details, you can set the status to either Cancelled or Order Complete to initiate the desired action.

Please keep in mind that payments that are authenticated only cannot be refunded, and adjusting the status to “Order Complete” for a payment that has already been captured won’t impact the ledger. Always ensure accurate management of payment transactions within your CubeCart.
